The 1200+ Km Bike Trip --- Day8- Dev Prayag To Gurgaon/Delhi

Dev Prayag to Gurgaon/Delhi:

Dev Prayag:

We woke up early, freshened up, had some Tea and snacks, vacated the OYO room and started our journey at around 6:40 am towards our destination, Gurgaon/Delhi.
It was cloudy but it was not raining. When we started to ride towards Rishikesh there was a cool breeze flowing. It was fun to drive in the cool breeze.
In some time we were driving on the mountains with the Holy Ganges flowing alongside in the gorge. Driving cautiously and enjoying the ride we reached Rishikesh. As soon as you enter the city you would witness the hustle-bustle. The town is always flooded with Tourists and Devotees.

Rishikesh:

By the time we reached Rishikesh it was Breakfast Time. We thought we would have breakfast before moving ahead. If you wish you can get your fuel tanks filled as you see few Petrol Pumps alongside the road.

We stopped at a restaurant namely "Rajasthani Mishthan Bhandar" which is on the Rishikesh-Haridwar Road, near Triveni Ghat. We had our breakfast here. The food was tasty. After finishing our meal we started moving towards Haridwar. The roads were crowded due to vehicular traffic and due the construction work that was in full swing at that point of time. There were few traffic jams as well.

Haridwar:

As we reached Haridwar, initially we had the plan that we would visit "Har Ki Pauri" Ghat and take a dip in the Holy Ganges, but due to the traffic jams we were already behind our schedule hence we had to abandon the thought of taking a dip in the Holy Ganges at "Har Ki Pauri" Ghat.
We started moving towards Roorkee. After driving for sometime it started raining. Initially it was a light drizzle but after sometime it started raining heavily. We had to stop few times to take refuse from the downpour in many shades and makeshift canopies along the road.

Roorkee:

Slowly and gradually moving when the rain stopped we reached Roorkee. By the time we reached Roorkee the rain had stopped. We quickly finished a meal of Bread-Omelette at "Bhatia Fast Food & Shakes Corner". We had stopped-by at Bhatia during the start of our trip on Day1. After the meal we quickly crossed the town to move towards the NH which takes to Delhi. As we started moving on the NH and it again started raining, we took refuse on a roadside Restaurant and some Tea in the interim. After driving for some time, near Mohammadpur, we had to again stop at a roadside restaurant to take refuse from the rains. The owner of the Restaurant (who was a helpful fellow) guided us that after some-more distance along the NH there is a diversion which takes you to the "Upper Ganga Canal Road". You have to be cautious about this diversion/turn else you could easily miss it as there are no sign boards. Probably taking to locals or perhaps Google Maps could help. We took the diversion to join the Upper Ganga Canal Road. This was known road as we had cruised on it during start of our Journey.

The Upper Ganga Canal Road:

We started moving along the Upper Ganga Canal road. The traffic was less at that point of time. I have heard that the Traffic has now increased on this road. Anyways as we moved after driving sometime we saw some local fruit vendors selling fresh fruits. We bought some fresh fruits and ate them and gain stated moving. The Upper Ganga Canal moves along the road. The road is side is all green and there is constantly a fresh breeze flowing from the Canal. The drive is a smooth, relaxing and enjoyable drive.
Soon we reached a place which is called "Bhola Ki Jhal" which is near to the Meerut Diversion.
Here you would see roadside vendors selling Pakoras by weight. Previously there used to be only these vendors opposite to the small barrage, off-late I have seen a restaurant come up in this area. We had stopped at this place during the start of our Journey on Day1. I was told that this place used to be a picnic place where people used to flock from adjoining areas to enjoy and spend some quality time with their family and friends. We had some Pakoras and Tea here before moving on further.

Soon we reached Murad Nagar Police Check Post at around 3:40 pm, from here you have to take a left turn and then a U-Turn to reach the road on the other side that takes you to the road towards Delhi/Gurgaon. We kept driving as per the sign boards and the instructions on Google maps. Soon driving through Delhi we soon reached at our home at around 5:40 pm. We just realized that we had reached Gurgaon from Dev Prayag in around 11 hours including all the stoppage time due to rains or for having meals. We spent the rest of the day and the next day taking rest and remembering our trip.

We had completed a fun-filled, soul nourishing trip. This trip is engraved in our
hearts and soul and the nostalgic feeling will always remain with us. I am glad we did this trip as it was so enriching as we added so much to our day to day life experiences and probably even more to the spiritual experience.
