Sweet Water Lake Arambol

Image
Sweet Water Lake Arambol 27th February  2022 - 1st March 2022,  We were on our trip to Goa; we had chosen Candolim, North Goa as our place of stay between 27th February 2022 and 1st March 2022. This was the time we explored the  Sweet Water Lake Arambol also referred to as  Arambol  Sweet Water Lake. While planning for the trip to North Goa, we had put  Sweet Water Lake Arambol  as a must visit destination. This was due to the fact that  Sweet Water Lake Arambol  was suggested to be as a serene destination which had a conglomeration of a Sweet Water Lake, lush green Hills and Beach in close vicinity.  The official name of the lake is " Vagkolam ", but the locals prefer calling it by its nick name, Sweet Water Lake. We were told that the water of the Lake originates in natural hot springs from within the Goan jungles. Hills and the Coconut groves surround the Lagoon.  Sweet Water Lake Arambol The beach in the vicinity is known...

Tanshikar Spice Farm 27th February 2022 - 6th March 2022,  4th March 2022 Goa is not all about beaches. Goa is very rich in flora and fauna. Goa has quite a few Wildlife Sanctuaries as well. Just near to the Netravali Wildlife Sanctuary, among the Western Ghats rainforests there is a Spice Farm well preserved and in the lap of mother nature known as Tanshikar Spice Farm . This Spice farm sometimes is also colloquially called as Netravali Spice Farm due to it's proximity to Netravali Wildlife Sanctuary. To be precise this spice farm is in Netravali village in the Sanguem Taluka of Goa. This Spice Farm is near to South Goa and hence it also sometimes referred to as South Goa Spice Plantation . Tanshikar's working Organic Spice Farm is spread across 40 acres of land out of which on 25 acres a variety of spices are grown. Tanshikar Spice Farm received Best Organic Farmer Award by the Prime Minister of India through Shri Shri Agri Institute Trust in 2016. This Spice farm is man...

Landour - The Misty Himalayan Abode

Image
Landour- The curly way to Landour Landour : To be honest we discovered Landour by chance and I can say with conviction that Landour is one of the most memorable places we have ever visited in India. We were on our trip to Haridwar, Dehradun and Mussoorie and this time the theme of the trip was "Shoe String Budget for Travel". It is customary with us to keep themes for various trips; this makes the trip more memorable and different from normal visits to a place. Adhering to the theme for the trip meant a lot of travel on foot. I grew up and did my schooling from Dehradun. During my numerous visits to Mussoorie I had crossed the Picture Palace End Chowk, also called the Kulri Chowk, many times but I had never explored the path to Landour. I did not even know that there is a place called Landour. Although in back of mind somehow I always knew that the path on the left from the Kulri Chowk will take me to an unexplored gem of the mountains. I was determined to expl...
